Wow, it's been so long since I have had time to update Brady's blog! The last post was his 3 month picture? Well, Brady was 5 months old yesterday! I find it so hard to believe but it's also amazing at the same time! Well Lots have happened in the last 3 months! Lets see.....
Back in July Brady went to his first wedding reception/party! Our friends Joe and Trish got married in May down in Florida. Obviously we could not go because we thought I would still be pregnant but we all know now that Brady had other plans! This was around the time that Brady really didn't like the car/car seat but he slept the whole time in the car and was a very good boy at the party!
Brady had a sleepover at Nanny & Pops house while Chris and I went to our friends wedding and the best part of the month of July (the 30th to be exact) is that we got to hear Brady laugh for the first time. This was a REAL laugh! We definitely heard a few chuckles before this but this was a full out laugh! We were leaving Chris' parents house and were putting Brady in his car seat - he has these little bug toys that are hanging from the handle and Chris started shaking them in front of Bradys face and he was laughing hysterical!!!!! This then made me and Chris laugh hysterical as well - this was one of those moments that makes being a parent totally amazing!!!! MY BABY IS LAUGHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
August - Happy 4 months Brady!
August was a busy month for us! Brady got to go to 4 birthday parties... yup 4!!!! Brady's first birthday party was for his 2nd cousin Jaclyn, then we had Nicholas' 1st bday party, then Brady's cousin Madison's 5th birthday party... and last we went to my friend Crystals' birthday! WOW what a mont for birthdays! At least Brady is getting a lot of practice for his own bday in April!
Brady had his 4 month check-up right before I went back to work. He was 14lbs 14oz. / his head was 16.5 inches & 23.5 inches long. He had to get some shots at this appointment and boy did he scream!!!!!! He turned as red as a tomato, I felt so bad for him. I know a lot of kids get cranky after shots but honestly after the initial pain/burning sensation I feel like Brady could care less!
In August I also returned to work, ugh! This is something that's probably better to leave off the blog but it happened so I guess when Brady gets older I want him to be able to read about it! Going back to work was one of the hardest decisions I ever had to make (right after deciding to let the hospital give me steriods to help develop Brady's lungs when I was proud that I have been medicine free for YEARS!) Anyhoo! I didn't have much of a choice about returning back to work anyway... but to my surprise I am actually happy that I went back to work. The weeks heading up to my return I was a MESS! I honestly didn't know how I would be able to do it but once I did I realized that it will be good for all of us (me, chris, brady, & KC too). I remember while on maternity leave I couldn't wait for the weekends because this was my "time off" - I looked forward to being by myself and/or just with Chris having "us" time. Being a full time stay at home mom is HARD WORK! Now being back at work I am really looking forward to the weekends to spend all my time with Brady (not saying that I still dont need some "mom" time... but its totally different) - it's just weird how everything changed. Now it's a different kind of "hard"... now I have 2 full time jobs and I'm exhausted, but would't change it for anything. Well, maybe I wouldn't mind winning the lottery so that both me and Chris no longer have to work and we can move to Hawaii.... hmmm guess i'll buy a lottery ticket later!!!!
Well - that's pretty much it! I have attached Brady's 5 month picture below... I can't wait to celebrate his half birthday next month! :) Here's to a great September with my baby!
